§ 9.7.5. Obligation to bargain.

  • It shall be the mutual obligation of the City and County of Denver, acting through its Corporate Authorities or their representatives, and of representatives of the sole and exclusive agent for the Firefighters, to meet and confer in good faith within seven (7) days after receipt of written notice by the Corporate Authorities from said agent of a request for a meeting for collective bargaining purposes. This obligation shall include the duty to cause any agreements resulting from negotiations to be reduced to a written contract, provided that any such contract shall be for a term of not less than one (1) year nor more than three (3) years, notwithstanding the provisions of Article VII of this Charter relating to Budget and Finance. All collective bargaining agreements shall be effective on a January 1 date and shall terminate on a December 31 date.
