§ 54-68. Scope and effect of article.

(a)

It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or move, or for the owner or person in charge of any vehicle to cause or knowingly permit to be driven or moved in the city, any vehicle or combination of vehicles which is in such unsafe condition as to endanger any person or property, or which does not contain those parts, or is not at all times equipped with such lamps and equipment, kept in proper condition and adjustment as required by this article, or which is equipped in any manner in violation of this article, or to fail to perform any act required by and under this article.

(b)

Nothing in this article shall be construed to prohibit the use of additional parts and equipment on any vehicle not inconsistent with the provisions of this article.

(c)

The provisions of this article with respect to equipment on vehicles shall not apply to implements of husbandry, road machinery, road rollers or farm tractors except as herein made applicable.
