§ 49-297. Notice and public hearing for matters relating to ditch protection.

  • (a)

    Upon the completion of the matters set out in section 49-294, the city clerk shall give notice by advertisement for ten (10) consecutive days, exclusive of Sundays and legal holidays, in two (2) daily newspapers of general circulation, published in the city, specifying the proposed boundaries of the local improvement district, giving the data required to be ascertained in section 49-294, and notifying all persons interested in the improvement or in any of the land in the proposed district to file with the city clerk within twenty (20) days from the first publication of the notice any objections thereto, including any objections to the proposed boundaries or zoning of the local improvement district.

    (b)

    After the expiration of the twenty (20) days, the council shall proceed to consider any objections that are filed and may, at its discretion, fix a time and place for a public hearing at which any person who has filed objections may appear and be heard.
