§ 49-294. Preparation of estimate by engineer and manager.

  • (a)

    Upon the presentation of the petition under this article, the manager of public works shall cause the city engineer to make an estimate (if such estimate has not been previously made) of the total cost of the covering or otherwise protecting of the irrigation ditch, or any portion thereof, set out in the petition.

    (b)

    The manager of public works shall determine the rate of interest upon and the number of installments and the time in which the costs shall be payable, including a reasonable percentage for the cost of collection and other incidentals (and of interest to the time the first installment falls due); and shall prepare a plan, with one (1) or more zones, for levying the cost of the improvement on the land to be benefitted.
