§ 45-141. Definitions.

  • (1)

    "Automobile parts recycler" means any person who operates an establishment at which motor vehicles are dismantled for the purpose of selling useable parts and which does not include a junkyard, pawnshop, or secondhand goods shop, but which does include purchase, sale, or other transfer of used automobile parts as defined in this section.

    (2)

    "Motor vehicle" means any self-propelled vehicle which is designed primarily for travel on the public highways and which is generally and commonly used to transport persons and property over the public highways, but the term does not include motorized bicycles as defined in subsection (37) of section 54-1 of this Code, wheelchairs as defined by subsection (80) of section 54-1 of this Code, or vehicles moved solely by human power.

    (3)

    "Used automobile parts" means any object designed to be attached to a motor vehicle which was, or appears to have been, previously attached to the motor vehicle, but which, at the time of sale, bargain, exchange, purchase, or other transfer of the object, is not attached to the motor vehicle.
