§ 2-391. Response to monitor recommendations.

  • The monitor's office shall make recommendations to the department of safety, the chief of police, or the sheriff about matters within the duties of the monitor's office. If requested by the monitor in writing, the department of safety, the chief of police, or the sheriff shall respond in writing within thirty (30) days and shall specify:

    (a)

    Either agreement with recommendations or reasons for disagreement with recommendations;

    (b)

    Plans for implementing solutions to issues identified; and

    (c)

    A timetable to complete such activities.

    Upon receiving a request in writing from the department of safety, the chief of police, or the sheriff, the monitor may extend the time for a response to any recommendations. Recommendations made by the monitor and any responses shall be open to inspection except as otherwise not subject to disclosure under state, federal, or local law or regulation.
