§ 2-16. Bonds.

  • (a)

    Any officer of the city required by law to give bond or other obligation as such officer may include as a part of the lawful expenses of executing and performing the duties of the office such reasonable premium as may be charged by a company, authorized under the laws of this state or the Charter and ordinances of the city so to do, for becoming a surety on such bond or obligation and such reasonable premium as may be so charged by such company for becoming surety upon the bond of any deputy clerk or employee of such officer who is required by law or by such officer to give bond.

    (b)

    Such expense shall be paid from any fund provided by the city for the payment thereof or for the payment of the incidental or contingent expenses of such officer, or the same may be paid by such officer from any fund in such officer's possession from which the officer is authorized to pay expenses or salaries of the office.
