§ 20-303. Collection and enforcement of rates, tolls, or charges.

  • (a)

    Part 6, Article 25, Title 31 of the Colorado Revised Statutes established a process for improvement districts to collect and enforce the rates, tolls, or charges fixed by the improvement districts.

    (b)

    There is hereby created an additional process for the collection and enforcement of rates, tolls, or charges fixed by improvement districts created pursuant to Part 6, Article 25, Title 31 of the Colorado Revised Statutes. The process in this section is an alternative to, and in lieu of the process established in Part 6, Article 25, Title 31 of the Colorado Revised Statutes. Upon request of an improvement district, the Treasurer of the City and County of Denver is authorized to collect and enforce the rates, tolls, or charges fixed by the improvement district in the following manner:

    (1)

    The rates, tolls, or charges shall be billed at the same time and in the same form and manner as ad valorem taxes;

    (2)

    The rates, tolls, or charges shall be paid in full on or before the last day of February; and

    (3)

    If the rates, tolls, or charges are not paid in full on or before the last day of February, they shall be delinquent, and shall be enforced at the same time and in the same form and manner as ad valorem taxes.
